A crane lifts an air conditioning unit to the top of St. Joseph Hospital’s medical facility before the rain started Friday morning. Local contractors are working on the project, including Joe Costa Trucking, which brought in the ventilation units, and O&M Industries, which will install them into the new structure.

Scheduled for completion in early 2011, St. Joseph Hospital’s new northeast expansion will feature an emergency room with 20 treatment rooms, a surgical suite with eight operating rooms and an intensive care unit, new reception and waiting areas, and more.
