Redwood Memorial Hospital Volunteers Honored for Service

Redwood Memorial Hospital volunteers were honored for their contributions to the hospital. Silver Circle recipients for 2009 include (from left): Anne Holgersen, Carol Rode, Linda Sarvinski, Joyce Coppini, Alice Herman, Willy Fogg and Eleanor Sweet. Not pictured: June Anderson, Imogene Dewarns, Joyce Godwin, Miona Johnson, Iris Mattes, Ernestine Porro, Alicia Scoville and Irene Sylvest.Every year, the Redwood Memorial Hospital (RMH) Auxiliary gives more than 13,000 hours of volunteer service to the hospital. Several RMH Auxiliary members were recently recognized for service hours going above and beyond the call of duty in 2009.

Fifteen “Silver Circle” recognition pins were awarded to volunteers who provided between 200 and 300 hours of service to the hospital. Silver Circle recipients for 2009 were Anne Holgersen, Carol Rode, Linda Sarvinski, Joyce Coppini, Alice Herman, Willy Fogg, Eleanor Sweet, June Anderson, Imogene Dewarns, Joyce Godwin, Miona Johnson, Iris Mattes, Ernestine Porro, Alicia Scoville and Irene Sylvest.

2009 Gold Circle recipients include (from left): Ellen Emmons and Mary Miranda. Not pictured: Jacqueline Aitken, Joy Peters and Brigid Young.Additionally, five “Gold Circle” recognition pins were awarded to volunteers who completed between 300 and 400 hours of service. Gold Circle recipients for 2009 were Ellen Emmons, Mary Miranda, Jacqueline Aitken, Joy Peters and Brigid Young.

“Diamond Circle” recognition was given to six volunteers who volunteered more than 600 hours of service at Redwood Memorial. The 2009 Diamond Circle recipients were Joyce Erickson, Gail Sisson, Patti Zerlang, Anita Savage, Linda Gillette and Tricia Stanley.

The hospital’s 65 volunteers provide support for patients, families and staff through a number of wonderful services, including running the very successful hospital gift shop, crocheting and knitting baby hats, the Vial of Life program, music and pet therapy, volunteer chaplaincy, and many, many other programs.
