" Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has ." Margaret Mead
Justice -- one of the four core values of St. Joseph and Redwood Memorial Hospitals -- calls us to advocate for systems and structures that are attuned to the needs of the vulnerable and disadvantaged and that provide a sense of community among all persons. St. Joseph & Redwood Memorial Hospitals believe one of the ways we can best improve the health of people living within our communities is to advocate for them. This is a key way in which we can all contribute to our mission to improve the health and quality of life for people in our communities.
Advocacy Priorities include:
- Support Federal healthcare reform and expanded access to healthcare. - Support Federal legislation increasing the number of qualified healthcare workers. - Protect State budget funding for the healthcare safety net. - Provide access to healthcare for all children.
Decisions in Sacramento or Washington DC can greatly affect the delivery of hospital services. We greatly encourage participation at the grassroots level.
